Who can learn to sail?
Anyone can learn to sail. If you need accommodations you should let us know. We will do our best to help.
Sailing is an active sport so you should be able to move around easily and have a full range of motion. You should be comfortable in or around water.
Can you sail in the rain?
Yes. Whatever the weather or the forecast, please come to your class. Forecasts are not always accurate and we always make decisions at the school at the start time for the class. Almost all of our classes have a date on the schedule if we need to use it to make up a cancelled class.
What should I bring?
clothing that can get wet and a change of clothes. Sports clothing is great. An extra sweater is nice to have;
shoes that protect your toes and can get wet;
a rain jacket is really useful to have;
a reusable water bottle;
sun protection, such as ball cap, sunscreen, old sunglasses (new sunglasses and expensive sunglasses tend to get lost or damaged);
food and snacks.
That's all! All special equipment is available to borrow. We can store valuables for you.
What is your refund policy?
Customers will receive a full refund or credit if requested within 5 days from the date of booking.
After 5 days from booking, course changes are made on a case by case basis. It is not possible for us to transfer you to another course, give any refund or credit if it is 10 days or less to the start date of your booking.
Customers will receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
No-shows will be charged the full price.
What if I miss a class?
Please do your best to attend all scheduled classes. We sail rain or shine. The scheduled classes are the minimum time required for the average person to complete a level. If you miss a class or don’t achieve the Sail Canada CANSail standard in the allocated class time we offer discounted private lessons. To organize a private lesson please contact us.
